Abstract
1,055,388. Time switches. H. SCHLEICHER. May 1, 1964 [July 16, 1963], No. 18139/64. Heading H2B. The electromagnetic clutch of a time delay switch serving to couple a contact actuating member 6 to a synchronous motor, comprises a coil 4 which surrounds a driven armature 5 and a driving armature 3 and is so designed that no relative axial movement of the armatures occurs when the coil is energized. A solid lubricant, e.g. graphite or. molybdenum disulphide, may be used between the faces of the armatures or these faces may be coated with a hard metal, e.g. chromium, tantalum or titanium. The delay time is set by adjusting a knob 10 which carries a stop against which one arm of the contact actuating member 6 is urged by a torsion spring 7. The actuating member 6 is rotated when the clutch is energized until it actuates a contact set whereupon the clutch starts to slip. A knob 9 connected by a shaft 8 to gearing 1 between the synchronous motor and the clutch is provided to alter the time range from e.g. 1 to 10 or 100 seconds.
