Abstract

1,051,769. Screw. GENERAL AMERICAN TRANSPORTATION CORPORATION. May 22, 1964 [July 18, 1963], No. 21357/64. Heading B3N. A fluteless screw-thread swaging and fastening screw comprises a fixed pitch thread 11, having a cylindrical portion 11b and a tapered portion 11a. The thread portion 11b has lobes 16ab, 16c, 16d, 16e formed thereon which subtend an angle between 60 and 120 degrees and the centres of which are angularly spaced between 420 and 480 degrees. The threads are rolled and are hardened.
