Abstract
105,125. Hall, J. April 7, 1916. Stationary batch-mixers with rotary stirrers.- In a machine fpr mixing dough &c., of the kind comprising a tiltable container with a revolving shaft carrying a series of beaters arranged angularly around the shaft, the beaters 6 consist of tapered radial stems 10 with teeth 11 at rightangles to the stems and inclined to the axis of the shaft 3, and means such as brackets or combs 7 are arranged between the beaters to drag the dough &c. off the beaters as they revolve. The combs 7 may have teeth or projections and are secured at one end to the container 1 and embrace the shaft 3 at the other end. Projections are provided on one side only of the end beaters 12, the stems of which are bevelled and work close against the ends of the container. Stops, consisting of pivoted catch-plates on the standards 5 adapted to engage projections on the ends of the container, are provided to hold the container stationary during the mixing process. The container has splayed sides and a rounded bottom 2.
