Abstract
Cellulase preparations of high purity are obtained from wheat bran cultures of micro-organisms of the Aspergillus species by first subjecting the culture to drying and then extracting with water or dilute aqueous acid, preferably 1 10 to 1 50 M lactic, acetic or hydrochloric acid to produce a solution from which enzyme preparations of high purity may be obtained by precipitation with a hydrophilic organic solvent, e.g. ethanol.
