Abstract

1,049,472. Silos. H. ULRICH. March 13, 1964 [March 13, 1963; Nov. 12, 1963(2)], No. 10849/64. Heading E1A. Multi-compartment silos for, e.g., grain storage, comprise tubular or angular metal pillars 52 with horizontally corrugated metal walls 51 therebetween, and attached thereto by means of similarly corrugated metal connecting strips, e.g. 54, (Fig. 2, not shown) attached to the pillars. Opposed wall centres of each compartment may be connected together by tie-rods 214 (Figs. 36-39, not shown). The tubular pillars may be filled with concrete, which may be reinforced by tie rods connecting opposed connecting strips to the pillars. Many forms of pillar and connecting strip are disclosed.
