Abstract
1,047,672. Pedal tricycles. C. J. TURNER and GEORGE FITT MOTORS Ltd. June 8, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1965], No. 7368/65. Heading B7E. A pedal tricycle has a frame comprising a single main tube T and auxiliary tubes 7, 18 supporting the rear axle and the seat pillar (not shown), the tubes 7, 18 being clamped to the tube T by brackets 4, 15. A pedal axle 34 is journalled in a bracket 32 clamped to the tube T, a front fork steering assembly is carried in a tube 3a welded, or clamped by a bracket 3, Fig. 1a (not shown), to a leg 2 of the tube T, and a three-speed sprocket gear (not shown) is carried by a bracket 30 clamped to the tube T. A bracket 10, Fig. 2 (not shown), is clamped to each end of the tube 7 and has a depending lug 11 for mounting the rear axle, stays 22 being secured to the brackets 10 and to a bracket 20. A bracket 28, Fig. 2 (not shown) is clamped on the tube 7 to combat rear axle whip and to support the rear wheel brake (not shown). The rear end of the tube T has a plate (not shown) welded across the opening thereof, and an adjustable bolt assembly 27 screws into a flange 26 integral with the bracket 4. The brackets 4, 15, 32, 3, 30, 10, 20 and 28 are split castings securable by pinch bolts.
