Abstract

The invention comprises azo dyes containing at least one thiosulphonic acid ester group linked to an aryl residue. The dyes are prepared by coupling diazo compounds of amines containing such groups with coupling components. In examples, the dyes 4-aminophenyl-thiosulphonic acid 41-aminophenyl ester (1 mole) --> --> monosodium salt of H-acid (2 moles) and 4-aminophenyl-thiosulphoni acid ethyl ester --> sodium salt of 1-(41-sulphophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone are prepared.
