Abstract
1,046,620. Colour television tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 12, 1965 [July 15, 1964], No. 29369/65. Heading H1D. The shadow mask of a three-gun colour television display tube consists of, for example, an iron-nickel alloy and is selected to have a thermal expansion coefficient of (15-50) x 10<SP>-7</SP> per ‹ C., in contrast to that of the screen glass substrate of (90-100) x 10<SP>-7</SP> per ‹ C., in order to compensate for misalignment due to temperature differences at temperatures between 0‹ C. and 300‹ C., the mask attaining a higher temperature than the glass in operation. The composition of the iron-nickel alloy is 55% to 62% by weight of iron and at least part of the remainder, nickel.
