Abstract

1,046,456. Washers; covers for nuts and bolts. MORNING (CROYDON) Ltd. Jan. 29, 1963 [Nov. 29, 1961], No. 42685/61. Heading F2H. A sealing washer, Fig. 1, of polyethylene or natural or artificial rubber, has a ridge 7 for engagement in a groove 18 of a cap, Fig. 3, which is thus secured over a bolt head or nut bearing on the washer top 6, and a concave underside of the washer bears annular ridges which may vary in size. The washer need not be circular in plan and need not have a tubular extension 9. The top of the washer skirt may have annular corrugations. The washer and cap may be moulded in one piece, side-by-side, joined by a small severable strip until required for use. There may be at least one annular groove or a helical groove in the washer bore.
