Abstract

1,046,203. Double windows. H. SHAPIRA and D. W. WILDMAN. Feb. 17, 1965 [Feb. 26, 1964], No. 7944/64. Heading E1J. An auxiliary surround frame 1 is fitted with double hung sashes 2, 3 interconnected by wires &c. 8 over pulleys 12 so that movement of one causes corresponding movement of the other, the frame 1 being provided with sealing strips 18 of plastic foam so that when fixed to an existing window frame as by screws through apertures in the frame 1 it forms a sealed space between the two windows which can be vented by opening the sliding sashes 2, 3. Distance washers 20, are provided on the rear face of the sealing strips 18.
