Abstract

1,045,724. Endless conveyers. SOVEX Ltd. July 20, 1965 [July 30, 1964], No. 30239/64. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer comprising slats 2 operating at floor level 1 is provided with a protective arrangement where the conveyer passes under floor level. The protective arrangement comprises a main plate part 7, arranged to be able to slide horizontally, to which is pivoted an auxiliary plate part 8 guided by rollers 19 so that during movement of the plates 7, 8 by an overrunning load or a part of an operator's body or other obstruction encountering a bladed edge 18 on the plate 8 a gap 25 is kept substantially constant at its safe, normal width. The plates 7, 8 are urged to their normal positions by springs 30 and a stop switch 26 is arranged to stop the conveyer or actuate a warning device if the plates 7, 8 are moved in the direction of travel of the conveyer.
