Abstract

1,045,524. Transistor switching circuits. MONSANTO CO. March 31, 1964 [April 15, 1963], No. 28642/65. Divided out of 1,045,523. Heading H3T A current pulse is generated in an inductive load by connecting the load in series with a capacitor shunted by a semi-conductor controlled rectifier so that when the rectifier is " fired it momentarily conducts while the capacitor is discharged, the load being energized by the recharging current of the capacitor. When power is applied to the circuit shown by operating switch 108 a unijunction oscillator 126 provides firing pulses for an S.C.R. 138. Each pulse renders the S.C.R. momentarily conductive to operate relay 144 and to discharge a capacitor 152 which thereafter recharges. The recharging current maintains the relay operated for a predetermined period. Contact 156 accordingly switches back and forth applying earth and a positive potential alternately to a capacitor 162 which, with resistor 164, forms a differentiating circuit so that positive and negative pulses are applied alternately to a stepping motor 102.
