Abstract
2:1-Chromium complex dyes containing two different monoazo dyes are prepared by reacting a dye of formula <FORM:1040557/C4-C5/1> n which R, Y and Z represent a hydrogen or a chlorine atom or a nitro group, but in which R and Y at most may represent nitro groups, Y may also be an acylamino group of up to 5 carbon atoms, R may also be an alkyl or alkoxy group of up to 5 carbon atoms and X may be a hydrogen or bromine atom or an alkoxy group of up to 5 carbon atoms, in a molar ratio of about 1:1 with a complex chromium compound containing one atom of chromium per molecule of azo dye of formula <FORM:1040557/C4-C5/2> in which one X1 is a hydrogen atom, the other is a nitro group. The intermediate monoazo dyes are prepared by conventional processes. Red, blue, brown and grey shades are obtained on silk, leather, wool, polyamides, polyurethanes and polyacrylonitrile.
