Abstract
A device for scraping the inside bore of a rotating centrifuge drum 1 comprises, tools 4 carried by a spindle 6 which is axially p reciprocated and angularly movable in step wise fashion by hydraulic pistons 7 and 13. Spindle 6 is keyed to a hydraulic cylinder 8, which is rotatably carried in housing 10 by bearings 9. Spindle 6 is connected to a control spool 24 by a lever 18, and the spool is connected to dosing pistons 31, 32. In operation, oil pressure is supplied from a tank 21 through conduits 19, 22 and 23, to both faces of piston 7, and spindle 6 moves to the right Fig. 3 (not shown). Spool 24 is centralized by spring 25, 26, until the collar 27 of piston 7 engages a collar on rod 28, and moves the latter to the right. Spool 24 is moved to the left by lever 18 and conduit 19 supplies oil to the left hand end of piston 31 through conduits 29, 30. A charge of oil displaced by piston 32 passes through conduits 35, 36 into the top of cylinder 14 thus pivoting tools 4, to feed the latter toward the bore of drum 1. A control sleeve 38 is moved to the right by piston 31 to separate conduit 23 from conduit 19, and connect conduits 23, 20. Pressure is supplied to piston 7 through conduit 22 only, and the piston is moved to the left. Spool 24 is moved to its right end position thus connecting conduits 19, 29, 35, to move pistons 31, 32 to the left, to force oil from chamber 33 through conduits 30, 36 into cylinder 14, to further feed the tools. The angular movement of the tools is limited by a stop 16, and the stroke of pistons 31, 32 is adjustable by a screwed spindle 43. The material scraped off is removed by a shoot or a conveyer screw.
