Abstract

1,035,070. Cathode-ray tube circuits. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Dec. 19, 1964, No. 51738/64. Heading H4T. A representation (e.g. of a motor car) is displayed on the screen of a cathode-ray tube 4 by repetitively sweeping the beam in the horizontal direction by means of a low-frequency signal from generator 2 whilst deflecting it in the vertical direction under the control of signals derived from two function generators 6, 7 having as respective inputs the positive and negative envelopes of the waveform produced by modulating a high-frequency signal from generator 1 by the low-frequency signal from generator 2. The function generators produce shaped signals corresponding to the upper and lower halves respectively of the representation and when the frequency of generator 1 is much higher than that of generator 2 the representation is produced as a completely luminous shape.
