Abstract
1,032,960. Switchboards. D. O. HAGGLUND. March 16, 1964 [Aug. 1, 1963], No. 10964/64. Heading H2B. A switchboard comprises at least one main bus-bar 18 enclosed in a horizontal trunking 16 and a plurality of branch bus-bars 24, 24<SP>1</SP> extending at right angles to the main bus-bar 18 and close to insulating walls 30, 30<SP>1</SP> of high dielectric strength and forming with other insulating and conducting walls chambers 10, 14 extending perpendicularly to the trunking 16 and containing a vertical stack of distributing units 52 each comprising fuses 40 and switches 42 and containing no magnetic members. Further chambers 12 contain the switch actuating mechanism 50 and horizontal busbars 44 connecting with cables 46. The insulating walls may be of a plastics cured composition of wood fibres and gypsum such as is known under the Trade Mark " Gibogi."
