Abstract

1,031,794. Electromagnetic relays. CIE ELECTRO-MECANIQUE. Jan. 17, 1963 [Jan. 29, 1962], No. 2169/63. Heading H2B. An armature 2 pivoted in a half bearing 3 is prevented from sticking to a U-shaped yoke 1 by a non-magnetic, e.g. stainless steel, bar 4 provided either on the pole face 1b nearest to the pivot 3 or as shown on the face 2b of the armature. As shown, the bar 4 is secured by welding or brazing in a recess in the lower part of face 2b of the armature and has a cylindrical surface, which is proud of the face 2b, about which the armature rolls during the latter part of its closing stroke. Alternatively, the bar may be flat and roll about a cylindrical surface on pole face 1b In another embodiment the bar is secured in a central slot in face 2b and is in the form of a prism or cylinder. The other face 2a of the armature may be flat or curved so that it only bears against that part of the pole piece la which is surrounded by a phase shifting ring (not shown).
