[Also in Division F1] In a device for dispensing beer from metal casks, a discharge valve is provided with an angularly movable control member which, towards the end of the opening movement, pivots a lever, which may also be independently manually pivoted, to open a control valve to supply carbon dioxide to the cask. Discharge valve 2, the conical closure 6 whereof is spring- urged into the valve bore, is rotated by a control member 11, connected thereto by one or a pair of stirrup arms 12, whereby beer flows from passage 9 to outlet 10. A domed resilient closure 18, of a control valve 3, is displaceable from a seating 17, against a spring 19, to permit flow of carbon dioxide from port 15 to port 16 leading to the beer cask upon displacement of a spindle 20 by contact with the arcuate nose 22 of a lever 23 which is operable either manually or by contact with the control member 11, towards the end of a valve 2 opening movement thereof. In further embodiments (Figs. 3-6, not shown), the spindle 20 may be displaced by a lever 25 pivoted at a lug 26 depending from the body 14 of the control valve 3 or, with a shorter spindle 20, the lever may be pivoted at a lug located between the discharge valve 2 and the back plate 1. The outlet port 16 may be provided with a spring-seated spherical non- return closure 28.
