Abstract
1,030,295. Fluent fuel fired fluid heating furnace. SOC. POUR L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES AB-DER-HALDEN. June 18, 1964 [June 20, 1963]. No. 25225/64. Heading F4B. A tubulous fluid heating furnace comprises a cylindrical chamber C with fluid passages S1 and a central radiant 16 formed of a number of superimposed elements spaced apart to allow air to enter the radiant from the chamber C, as burner 43 at the base of the radiant and means for feeding variable amounts of air to the chamber C and the interior of the radiant. The upper part of the furnace forms a convection pass R, Fig. 3 (not shown), with a tube 30 forming a by-pass for the combustion gas when excess pressure opens the damper 32. The combustion air is supplied through two coaxial chambers forming a distributer D, Fig. 2, and the arrangement is such that the fluid coils 50 can be withdrawn at the bottom of the furnace for cleaning.
