Abstract
Oxidation catalysts comprise 2-12% copper oxide, 1-10% chromium oxide and 0.0025-04% Pd on a support, the catalyst having a surface area greater than 100 sq. in/gm. a pane volume of 0.4-0.9 cc./gm. and at least 20% of the pane volume having a diameter of 600-2000\rA. The support may be silicon gel, SiO2-Al2O3, SiO2-MgO, SiO2-ZrO2, Al2O3-B2O3, SiO2-Al2O3-MgO, Al Pl4-gel, MgO, activated clay or bauxite. Other oxidizing components listed are MnO2, CoO, MoO3, Fe2O3, Fe2O3, NiO, V2O5, Pt and mixtures thereof.
