Abstract

1,027,889. Containers for fragile articles. LITEWATE PACKING CO. Ltd. Sept. 4, 1964 [Nov. 12, 1963], No. 44551/63. Heading B8P. Buttresses 12 (Fig. 1) in boundary walls of one part of a container form interference fits with recesses in the walls of a second separate part to provide a frictional restraint against separation of the parts. Additional coacting buttresses and recesses may be included, preferably of less width than the walls so that the buttresses prevent relative sliding between the two parts of the container. Preferably the container is made of resilient material such as expanded polystyrene. For transportation the parts may be held together by a wrapper or elastic band. The container may be used for ampoules, fragile instruments or wrist watches.
