Abstract

Frost or ice on runways, roadways &c. is caused to melt by the application thereto of a mixture of 20 to 80% by volume of ethylene glycol and 80 to 20% by volume of isopropyl alcohol. The preferred mixture is 1/3 ethylene glycol, 2/3 isopropyl alcohol by volume. Borax may be included as corrosion inhibitor.
