Abstract

1,027,156. Two-part couplings; plug-boards. P. CARTER, and B. P. CARTER. Jan. 24, 1964 [Oct. 24, 1962], No. 40225/62. Heading H2E. A lighting system for toys, models and the like consists of composite devices, each comprising a primary member wired to a power supply and secured to a baseboard and a slidably detachable secondary member containing an electric bulb. The primary member consists of a screw threaded tubular stem 1 carrying a clamping nut 4 and having at one end a flange 3 and at the other end a socket 2 with an insulated contact 5A connected to an insulated wire 5 running up the tubular stem 1. A further wire 6 is connected to the exterior of the stem 1. The secondary member, shown as a model lamp standard, comprises a shaped tubular column 7 whose lower end co-operates with the socket 2 and whose upper end carries a bulb 9. A switch or shutter may be activated when the secondary member is inserted into the primary member.
