Abstract

1,026,948. Roller clutches. SOC. ANON.; D.B.A. Jan. 14, 1965 [Jan. 16, 1964], No. 1728/65. Heading F2C. [Also in Division F1] In a one-way clutch an annular member 58, Fig. 4 (not shown) having lugs 62 has profiled parts 60 to fit into recesses defining the cams 48 in an outer ring 24, springs 54 acting between the lugs 62 and rollers 52 to press the rollers into a wedging position between an inner ring 40 and ring 24. Before assembly of the clutch, the lugs 62 make an angle greater than 90 degrees with the plane of member 58 so that on assembly the lugs press tightly against shoulder 50 to hold the member firmly between shoulders 46, 50 of outer ring 24.
