Abstract

In a multiplex exchange in which a called station responds only when there is a simultaneous marking on a preset number n of the m channel link, each of the subscribers is triggered by a pulse fed to all the subscribers in series. If a subscriber has data to transmit the trigger pulse is delayed before passing to the next subscriber. Alternatively, each subscriber delays the trigger pulses so that the subscribers are enabled in regular succession. The trigger pulse from the last subscriber feeds the first subscriber. The embodiment refers to an exchange comprising cores which are set up by a dialling subscriber to cause n channels to be marked by each data pulse. The distant receiver includes a gate which passes a signal only when those n channels are marked. Each bit is transmitted as a short pulse at the beginning and end of the bit time.
