Abstract

1,022,884. Valves. G. MEAGHER. Feb. 5, 1965 [Feb. 15, 1964], No. 6412/64. Addition to 955,010. Heading F2V. The gate valve of the parent Specification is modified by the insertion of at least one steel bush 15 in the casing 10 to define one of the valve ports, the bush 15 and the casing 10 incorporating annular lips 18, 19 supporting rubber " 0 "-rings 20 that contact the gate 17. The valve may be actuated by a pneumatic jack disposed in the lug 28, the rod of which is adjustably threaded into the gate block 30; the jack is controlled by a pair of solenoid valves mounted on the jack. The rings 20 may be of other than " 0 "- section and each may comprise two or more such rings.
