Abstract

1,021,249. Projectile fuses. BOFORS A.B. Oct. 19, 1964 [Oct. 22, 1963], No. 42585/64. Heading F3A. A rocket relay has a body in which there is a chamber for containing a pyrotechnic charge 26, electrical means 23 for detonating the charge, an electrically conductive link 30 for closing a circuit external to the relay and a piston 32 arranged within the body and actuable by detonation of the charge to break the link and thereby the circuit. The body comprises separable parts 20 and 21 and the link 30 one or more wires supported between two pins 28 and 29, the wires being broken by a projection 34 on the piston. The link forms part of a circuit including an activatable battery, four tracer igniting devices and a switch which is closed after the rocket has moved a predetermined distance. A switch in a stationary control device may cause the link to break as soon as the battery is activated so that only one tracer, instead of four, is ignited.
