Abstract

1,021,145. Discharge-collecting appliances. J. L. RUSSELL. March 17, 1964 [March 18,1963], No. 10580/63. Heading A5R. A colostomy, ileostomy or ureterostomy appliance comprises a metal or rigid plastic disc 11 with hub 11a having aperture 11b (not shown), and annular connector 14 which is removably connected to hub 11 by screw means or bayonet means. Rubber or plastic bag 10 is fitted into circumferential groove 14a in connector 14. Attached to the inner face of disc 11 is disc 15 of foam rubber, the face of disc 15 which rests against the body being coated with adhesive. The appliance is held on the body by strap 12 (not shown) attached to metal device 13 surrounding hub 11a.
