1,020,383. Remotely controlled fastenings; clamps. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 1, 1963 [March 5, 1962], No. 8396/62. Headings E2A and E2B. [Also in Divisions F1, F2 and G3] The subject-matter of this specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 1,020,384 but the claims are concerned with a control system for an hydraulic pump or pump-turbine having guide vanes angularly adjustable about axes transverse to the flow path, which includes means for locking the guide vanes in any predetermined position and electrical switch means for connecting means for controlling the operation of guide vane actuating means to the electrical power supply when the vanes are unlocked and disconnecting therefrom when the guide vanes are locked.
