Abstract
1,020,270. Baking, preserving and storing cakes &c. E. PAECH. May 4, 1964 [May 3, 1963], No. 18415/64. Headings A2A and A2D. In baking, preserving and storing cakes and like foodstuffs, a sheet metal tubular, e.g. cylindrical, container 3, Fig. 1, which is closed at one end and has an open mouth surrounded by a flange 3<SP>1</SP> at its other end, is partly filled with a cake mixture or dough 1, so that a free space 2 is left adjacent the mouth, which is then closed by a lid 4, Figs. 2 and 3, provided with a vent 5 and a rim 4, which is rolled, together with the flange 3<SP>1</SP>, around the mouth to form a substantially air-tight joint. The container is then heated in an oven to bake its contents and form a cake or like foodstuff 1<SP>1</SP>. The container is removed from the oven and the vent is sealed, as by a blob of solder or plastic material, which may bear a distinguishing mark or sign. The inner walls of the container may be lined with plain or corrugated greaseproof paper 7, or coated with fat or butter.
