Abstract

1,019,806. Crating bottles. E. P. REMY & CIE. March 18, 1963 [March 20, 1962; March 8, 1963], No. 10582/63. Heading B8H. The rows 7a, 7b, 7c, 7d, Fig. 2, of grippers 2a . . . 2d, in a gripper head for crating bottles, are moved apart by rotation of a cam 9 about a spindle 8. The cam 9 is linked to rows 7a, 7d by arms 11a, 11b and links 13a, 13b. The inner rows 7b, 7c are connected to rows 7a, 7d by links 16a, 16b which have slots 17a, 17b engaging pins 18a, 18b mounted on the rows 7b, 7c. Arms 12a, 12b abut fixed stops, as the head is moved, which rotate the cam 9. Alternatively movable stops may be used with a fixed head or the levers may be manually operated. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3, the bars 27... 30 which support grippers 25 are moved along supports 21, 22 by arms 36 . . . 39 pivoted to a cam 34 which is rotated about a pin 35 by any known means. Arms 48, 49 permit manual operation.
