A cabinet or rack is selectively subdivided into cells by flanged shelves 6, which may be horizontal or adjustably inclined, and vertical partitions 2, the partitions 2 and cabinet side walls 1 having spaced, elongated holes 3, 4 engaged by horizontal shelf bearers 5 over which the shelves 6 are securely fitted, each partition 2 being anchored by a hook 16 (Fig. 3, not shown) and lug 17 at lower edge engaged in holes 8, 9 in the shelf or in the cabinet base 37 with its upper edge located in a gap formed between the unequal depending legs of two angle members 14, 15 (Fig. 4, not shown) secured to the underside of the cabinet top 13 or of a higher shelf 6. The bearers 5 may have integral necked rivets 19 engaging the holes 3, 4 or alternatively may be provided with slots or holes (Figs. 23, 24, not shown) to receive bolts passed through the holes 3, 4, in which case the side covers 27 are detachable for access. Alternative arrangements of columns of vertical or inclined apertures (Figs. 20-22, not shown) are described. A heavy duty shelf 6 (Fig. 6, not shown) may have a rectangular tubular front flange and pins projecting from its rear flange to engage slots 23 in the cabinet rear wall 22. A shelf 6 may be provided with a front wall 32 (Fig. 11, not shown) to form a bin with the side walls 1 or paritions 2 and the rear wall 22. In another arrangement (Fig. 14, not shown) a shelf 6<SP>1</SP>, inclined downwardly to the rear, is provided with side walls 611 to form a bin with the rack rear wall 22 and is provided with triangular partitions which may be anchored to the rear wall 22. An alternative bin 31 (Fig. 10, not shown) suitable for liquid goods includes triangular side walls 6<SP>11</SP> and an integral rear wall. A shelf 6 may slidably support a drawer 29 (Fig. 5, not shown) having an upwardly extended rear wall which engages to front flange of a higher shelf 6 to prevent complete withdrawal. Holes 28 in the front edges of shelves 6, top cover 13 and base 37 receive fastening elements for lettering strips. The rear wall 22 may be common to two back-to-back racks. The rack may be of sheet metal, wood, plastics or perforated sheet material.
