Abstract

1,018,965. Delivering sheets. JAGENBERGWERKE A.G. June 4, 1963 [June 29, 1962], No. 22139/63. Heading B6H. In a method of forming a stack of sheets from a stream of overlapping sheets, compressed air is applied to the underside of the stream to assist in separating the foremost sheet from the stream and depositing it on the stack and at the same time urge the remaining sheets against a conveyer disposed above the stream. The overlapping stream of sheets 2 is delivered from cutting or like apparatus by a plurality of spaced continuously moving belts 3, 4. The stream passes over a table 15 and a plurality of spaced rollers 10. As the trailing edge of the foremost sheet 1 clears the rollers 10 it falls away from the stream and the sheet is deposited on a stack 5. This movement is assisted by blasts of air issuing from nozzles 16 interspersed with the rollers 10, which in addition, provide a cushion of air to press the remainder of the overlapping stream of sheets against the belts 3. The rear wall 14 of the stack holder is provided with a jogging device 13 for aligning the sheets in the stack.
