An opening 7 which extends to the fold-line 3 is cut in one of the inwardly folded surfaces 10 of the peak-roofed closure of a carton and is closed by two sheets 8, 9 lying on the inside and outside of the carton respectively. The inner sheet 8 is perforated along a curve 13 and the outer sheet 9 which is longer than sheet 8 does not have its bottom end stuck to the carton so that it can be easily gripped and pulled whereby sheet 8 which is sealed to sheet 9 tears along curve 13 to provide a pouring aperture, The blank that forms the carton is coated on one or both sides with a synthetic material.
