Abstract
1,017,285. Magnetic separators. L. J. A. LAMMERS. June 13, 1963 [July 12, 1962], No. 23652/63. Heading B2J. A rotor, comprising cylindrical wall 1 with a polygonal cross-section and end plates 2, has bar magnets 6 stacked on each of its flat surfaces. The magnets are magnetized transversely and arranged with their unlike poles adjacent. The rotor is mounted in a trough which is mounted just above the surface of a reservoir tank 12. Liquid passes through an iron gauze filter 15 tnto a funnel 14 from which it wells up about the slowly revolving rotor. Material adherent to the rotor is squeezed dry by rubber roller 7 and detached by scraper 17. Cleaned liquid overflows into the reservoir.
