Abstract
1,016,213. Stacking-machines. E. KELLER and W. KELLER, [trading as C. KELLER & CO.]. Feb. 28, 1963 [March 5, 1962], No. 8063/63. Addition to 937,963. Heading B8C. Apparatus for forming stacks of moulded ceramic articles with the rows of adjacent layers arranged transversely to each other comprises assembly tables on which the articles are arranged and spaced with the rows orientated as in the stack and gripper heads for raising a layer from each table in turn and depositing it on a kiln truck &c. The articles are fed by conveyer means 3, 4 to the side of one assembly table 1 and to the end of the other 2 and forced on to the tables by pushers 6, rows on the table 1 thus being at right angles to those on table 2. Gripper heads 9, 10 engage the layers after spacing of the rows by known means, and travel on rails 13 to deposit them on the truck 14. The truck may be removed on rails parallel to rails 13. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the truck may be loaded between the assembly tables and the truck be removed either beneath one of them or along a track at right angles to the rails 13.
