Abstract
1,015,924. Bale sledges. E. J. C. PEARCE. Jan. 4, 1963 [Feb. 16, 1962], No. 6178/62. Heading B5F. A trailer device adapted to be towed behind e.g. a baler, and receive bales therefrom, comprises a supporting base of ground-engaging slats 4, the forward ends of which extend upwardly for attachment to a cross member 2 located above ground level, and a gate or stop 8, 9 which either retains the bales on the trailer or allows them to slide off on to the ground. The gate 8, 9 is pivoted at 10, urged towards closed position by a spring 15 and held closed by a catch 12 pivoted at 11. The driver of the towing vehicle can release the catch to open the gate by means of a wire 20.
