Abstract

A folding projection screen comprises upper and lower elongated box-like elements, 1, 2 to which screen 30 is attached and to which vertical members in two hinged parts 3-4 and 5-6 are pivoted at 7 and 9, and 11 and 13 respectively. The lower parts 3 and 5 of the uprights are urged outwardly or inwardly by the action of connecting rods 15, 16 whose ends are hinged to threaded sleeves 19, 23 which are driven longitudinally as the screw rod 24 is rotated by a motor or by crank 36 in either direction. The necessary turning moment is exerted on parts 3, 5 by off-setting hinges 17, 21 from the line of each part, by means of brackets 18, 22. The screen is wound on to a roller carried in the base 1, and when folded is entirely contained within the elements 1, 2. Specification 475,079 is referred to.
