Abstract

1,013,332. Photosensitive materials. KALLE A. G. July 15, 1964 [July 20, 1963], No. 29131/64. Heading G2C. A photosensitive material comprises an aluminium/copper or a stainless'steel/copper support coated on its copper surface with a watersoluble organic colloid and an organic compound containing at least one azido group. This material is imagewise exposed to light, removing the unexposed areas, etching the bared copper with a ferric solution and then removing the hardened areas with an amine or an alkali to have a lithographic printing plate, the copper being inkreceptive. After removing the unexposed areas, the hardened areas may be dyed e.g. with methylene blue and the copper may be made more oleophilic by treatment with sulphuric acid. Specified azids compounds are 4, 4<SP>1</SP>-diazido-stilbene-2 or 2, 2<SP>1</SP>-mono-or di-sulphonic acid salt or -2, 2'- dicarbonic acid sodium salt; 1, 5 diazido, - naphthalene 3, 7-disulphonic acid sodium salt 4-azido- #-acetostyryl-2-sodium sulphonate, and 4-azidobenzyl acetone or pyroracemic and 2-sulphonic and sodium salt.
