Abstract

1,011,884. Machine-tool details. A. C. KEIR. Dec. 13, 1961 [Sept. 23, 1961], No. 34122/61. Heading B3B. An indexing table assembly comprises a single control means for actuating the table moving means 6 and the table locking means 16 to ensure that the table is not unlocked before the moving means is in operation. When a driving motor is started, a shaft 4 rotates causing a cam 5 to move a bar 11 away from a switch 24 and to rotate the disc 6 carrying a pin 7 engaging a slot 8 in the table 1. Movement of the bar 11 releases a member 19 connected to a table clamp and releases the indexing plunger 16 from a recess. When the disc 6 has indexed the table, the plunger 16 and the clamp are reengaged and the bar 11 operates the switch 24 to stop the motor. Indexing may re-commence after a time delay. The slots in the table may be curved.
