Abstract

1010534 Treating gases with liquids BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 28 April 1964 [30 April 1963] 17540/64 Headings C5G G10B and G11 A pump 6 of adjustable output (see Division F1) supplies small quantities of ammonia solution from a reservoir 5 to a boiler flue 3, to prevent corrosion when using sulphur-containing carbonaceous or hydrocarbon fuels. The pump delivers via a sight glass 9 and a perforated injection pipe 10. A vent pipe 13 connects reservoir 5 to flue 3. The pump motor is connected to burner 2, so that ammonia injection starts and stops with the burner. Specification 797439 is referred to.
