1,009,998. Filters. PREPARATION INDUSTRIELLE DES COMBUSTIBLES. Oct. 5, 1962 [Feb. 8,1962]; No. 37821/62. Heading B1D. A sector of a disc filter comprises an internal partition 1 delineating two. sealed chambers of similar capacity bounded by perforated plates 2, 3, spaced by a stiffening frame 4 and braces 5. A nozzle 6 connected to a supply of compressed air enables the two chambers to receive compressed air simultaneously and independently for blowing off caked material collected on the filter surfaces of the sector. In this way escape of compressed air through that side of the filter offering least resistance i.e. having the thinner, or more porous, cake, is prevented.
