1,009,119. Container closures. ALFRED BIRD & SONS Ltd. (GENERAL FOODS CORPORATION). Oct. 22, 1963 [Oct. 31, 1962], No. 41158/62. Heading B8T. A glass jar has an unground neck to receive the plug portion 4 of a hollow glass stopper 1, and a resilient cup-shaped sealing member 10, e.g. of polythene, is attached to the plug portion by an internal rib 21 which is forced over a rib 5. When the stopper is in place a tapered portion 13 of the sealing member is compressed against the neck mouth.
