Abstract

1,008,934. Electric monorail vehicle with current collectors. P.I.M. ENGINEERING CO. (HITCHIN) Ltd., and W. T. G. MEEKINS. May 7, 1964 [May 21, 1963], No. 20245/63. Headings B7H and B7L. A conveyer system comprises a track 12 of two members 11 having flanges 15 fixed to a support through resilient pads 16 and a carriage 13 having support wheels 19, 21 and wheels 24 driven by an electric motor 22. The wheels 19 are mounted on an arm 27 biased toward a fixed arm 28 by a spring 29 to bias the wheels 19, 24 together. Two wheels 32 bear on one member 11. An insulator 33 carries four brushes 34 which contact bus-bar conductors 35 mounted on insulating supports 36 fixed between members 11; power is thereby supplied to motor 22 and to pan-and-tilt mechanism 26 of a camera 25 carried by the carriage. An additional cableway 37 is provided above supports 36. The supports 36 may provide, or carry, a cover for the track. The wheels have tyres of resilient anti-static polyurethane.
