[Also in Divisions D1 and D2] A spool 19 or 40, used in the pretwisting of yarns preparatory to crimping the yarns by setting along a plied length (see Divisions D1, D2) is bored at 20 and 21 or coaxially to accommodate (running) ends of yarn(s), and yarn wound thereon is anchored thereto by tape at the tail (TE) and free (F) ends. A flanged extension, as at 18, at one end of the spool enables it to be mounted in a fixed bracket, Figs. 4 and 7 (not shown). Specification 978,371 is referred to.
