Abstract
1,006,793. Changeable Indicator. G. H. W. KENNEY. March 5, 1963 [Dec. 5, 1961], No. 43589/61. Heading G5C. Strips or labels 5 bearing information are adhered to an opaque, translucent or transparent panel 1, having guide markings 2 thereon, and are covered by a transparent overlay sheet 3 having opaque regions 4 of such breadth and pattern as to cover the markings 2, and the edges of labels 5, but not obscure the information on the labels. The sheet 3 may be foldably attached to the panel I along one edge by a flexible joining strip 6. The labels 5 may be self-adhesive plastic or coated on one side with adhesive and are readily replaceable. The arrangement as shown may be fitted within a box or frame and illuminated from behind by natural or artificial means, possibly intermittently. The regions 4 may be painted on the underside of sheet 3 as shown in matt paint, and may not extend all over sheet 3 but leave clear spaces for permanent information, printed on the sheet 3 or the panel 1. The panel 1 and sheet 3 may be made of polystyrene, polyvinylchloride or polymethylmethacrylate.
