Abstract

A resin/drug adsorbater comprises an acid-addition salt which is derived from 5-phenyl-2-cyclopropylamino -4-oxazolinone and a cationic resin, such as a sulphonated copolymer of styrene and divinylbenzene.ALSO:The invention comprises 5-phenyl-2-cyclopropylamino -4-oxazolinone and non-toxic acid addition salts (including "resinates"-see Division C3) thereof, pharmaceutical preparations containing them, and their preparation by heating an N1-cyclopropyl-N2-(a -phenyl-a -haloacetyl -urea in the presence of a hydrogen halide acceptor, optionally followed by acid addition salt formation. The compounds of the invention are central nervous system stimulants and anorexic agents, and may be administered orally in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets and capsules) containing them together with a carrier. The starting materials are prepared by condensing cyclopropylurea with an appropriate a -phenyl-a -haloacetyl halide.
