Abstract

1,004,213. Semi-conductor switching circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. April 17, 1963, No. 15071/63. Headings H3R and H3T. A switching circuit comprises a semi-conductor controlled rectifier SCR switched on and off by control signals applied to its gate, the current flowing in the " on " state being less than the hold current. As described, the rectifier is connected into the cathode circuit of a transmitter valve V to key it on and off. Closing the key K causes the rectifier SCR to conduct, and the current then flowing through the rectifier is arranged to be less than the hold current so that release of the key K turns the rectifier off. The transmitter may comprise a number of similar stages keyed sequentially or simultaneously.
