Abstract
1,003,878. Cleaning bottle filling machines. CHRISTIAN BERNER A.B. March 10, 1964 [March 25, 1963], No. 10024/64. Heading B8T. A bottle-filling machine comprising a revolving reservoir 3 with a plurality of bottle stations 5 each with a dismountable valve is cleaned by removing the valves and connecting up to each station 5 an extension of an annular hose 17 which also has an outlet 18 to the suction side of a pump 11. Cleansing liquid under pressure is pumped from a container 19 through a conduit 10 and into the reservoir 5 by means of nozzles 12, the liquid then passing through the hose 17 and back into the container 19. The nozzles 12 are provided on a rotatably mounted casing 13 joined by a pipe 9 to the conduit 10, several nozzles 12 lying tangentially to the casing in a plane at right angles to axis of rotation and so causing it to rotate by reactive action. The removed valves may be placed on a shelf below the liquid level in the container 19 and cleaned by the circulating liquid.
