Abstract
1,002,937. Suspending curtains. J. STROWEIS. Aug. 10, 1964 [Sept. 4, 1963; Jan. 9, 1964; June 15, 1964], No. 32445/64. Heading A4B. A curtain pleating device comprises a member 1 provided with hooks 2 by which it is suspended from the eye of a slide or runner, apertured securing elements 5, and flexible arms 4 projecting from a stem 3, the arms being threaded through loops 9, or apertures, in a curtain heading tape and bent round for hooked engagement of the reduced part 6 behind the head 7 in the aperture in the opposed securing element. The device is preferably moulded in a plastics material. The hook 2 may be at the top end of the member 1 and the open mouth thereof may be closed by snap engagement with a projection on the member 1 to prevent disconnection from the eye of the runner. In a further modification the arms have a series of notches selectively engageable with the aperture in the element 5 for adjustment of the pleating and, as shown in Fig. 11, the arms are engaged in curved bores in the member 1, plates 15, hooked to the member 1 and inserted in the pleats, and stays 12 engaging loops 9 in the unpleated part of the heading tape to prevent rotation, also being provided. In further modifications, the arms are alternately arranged at opposite sides of the member 1, the stays are formed by the free ends of the arms beyond their engagement in the bores in the member 1, the heads 7 are apertured for ease of entry into the bores and loops, or press-button type fasteners replace the hooking engagement of the heads 7.
